City Girls' JT argues with blogger KenBarbie over "lapdog" post
The clash between the two ignited over the title "princess of rap" which several female rappers have been fighting over in recent times. The imaginary title has been making the rounds over the years, mostly driven by Nicki Minaj fans.
Nicki has long since proclaimed herself as the "queen of rap", leaving others bickering over who is her "runner up" or "princess".
It is quite a spectacle to see grown women arguing over who gets to be below Nicki Minaj but the title has caused some tension in the industry.
The title seems to change hands depending on who Nicki Minaj likes or who is hot at the time. Bia, JT, Coi Leray and Doja Cat are among those who have been "crowned" as princess over the years. The title has now been snatched up by newcomer Ice Spice who Nicki has publicly endorsed as the "new princess of rap".
JT however continues to refer to herself as the so-called "princess of rap", including in a recent tweet where she quipped "princess vs peasants".
Blogger Ken Barbie reposted JT's tweet, pointing out that the title has been claimed by Ice Spice who was recently seen sporting a brand new "princess" chain.
Ken Barbie sarcastically referred to the chain as a "collar", hinting at Ice Spice being one of Nicki's lapdogs.
JT, who was publicly called a lapdog by Nicki's rival Cardi B, took offence at the comment and ignited an hours-long Twitter confrontation with the blogger.
Ken Barbie was at the time attending a birthday celebration for Cardi B's daughter Kulture, causing fans to question if JT chose that moment to ignite the beef on purpose as Ken Barbie's post was made days earlier.
Others questioned whether the drama was simply a way for JT to promote her new song "No Bars" which has been underperforming on every platform.
Nevertheless, JT accused Ken Barbie of using the "collar" comment in a racist manner to call a black woman a dog. Ken Barbie shut down the obvious race-baiting and clarified that his comment was related to JT and Ice Spice being "lapdogs" a term that means they are being controlled by someone else and nothing to do with race.
JT continued the argument, taking aim at both Ken Barbie's race and gender identity.
At some point during the argument, JT pulled up to Ken Barbie's dms. In the messages that were posted later on, JT challenges Ken Barbie to "come see me", apparently to settle their differences physically.
Ken Barbie took jabs at the City Girl, dropping the names of two women he claimed he had knowledge of JT's man Lil Uzi cheating on her with.
One of the women named Saudiah B eventually chimed in exposing JT for allegedly stalking her, "killing babies" and crashing her car into a house over her man Lil Uzi.
The confrontation seemed calculated as yet another way to get the attention of Cardi B who is close friends with Ken Barbie. Cardi B, who was busy with her daughter's birthday celebration, ignored the whole thing.
JT's City Girls partner Yung Miami and friend Saucy Santana also seemed unwilling to rush to JT's defense, staying noticeably silent throughout the back and forth with Ken Barbie.
Saucy Santana who was on Instagram Live during the confrontation was seen ignoring the comments of fans urging him to go to Twitter to defend JT.
Yung Miami later chimed in only to defend JT against Saudiah B. She steered clear of the Ken Barbie issue.
