Nicki Minaj Joins Call of Duty as Playable Character after Cardi B turns down deal

Rapper Nicki Minaj has officially become a playable character in the popular video game franchise, Call of Duty.

The groundbreaking deal has introduced a new and captivating dynamic to the game, offering players a chance to embody the unique style and flair that define Nicki's persona.

Nicki's character in Call of Duty stands out with its signature six-inch heels and vibrant pink hair, setting her apart from the game's other avatars. Adding to the authenticity, Nicki herself recorded dozens of voiceovers, bringing her distinct voice and personality to the virtual battlefield.

Fans of both Nicki Minaj and Call of Duty have been quick to showcase their gaming prowess on social media, utilizing her character to dominate the battlefield. However, not all players share the same enthusiasm, as some who are less fond of the rapper have taken to eliminating her character in-game, sharing screenshots of her character's dead body.

This collaboration is historic, making Nicki Minaj the first "self-named female operator" in the history of the Call of Duty franchise. Interestingly, the deal almost went to Nicki's rival, Cardi B, who was initially the franchise's top pick for this honor.

Cardi B's involvement in the gaming world almost materialized when she sported a custom Call of Duty "Ghost" pendant in her music video for "Hot Shit," featuring Kanye West and Lil Durk, in July 2022. The official Call of Duty social media accounts even announced Cardi B as the first female rapper to have her own playable character in the game.

However, Cardi B's journey took an unforeseen turn as she faced legal charges related to a strip club altercation. She was accused of assaulting two female bartenders, one of whom she believed had an affair with her husband, Offset. She shared that her court commitments clashed with her filming schedule for Call of Duty and she had to decline the opportunity.

She lamented that her "stupid decisions from the past" caused her to miss out on the multimillion-dollar deal.
This however worked in Nicki Minaj's favor, as Call of Duty selected her as their runner-up choice.
Some may say that Cardi B helped Nicki get a bag.
