Jason Lee "confirms" Rah Ali beat up Cardi B during infamous 2018 altercation with Nicki Minaj

The Cardi B/Nicki Minaj feud is a story that never dies.

This time Hollywood Unlocked host Jason Lee is dredging it up again and, of all days, on Cardi B's birthday.

Lee has been promoting a new interview with DJ Akademiks and a clip from the interview has gone viral.

In the clip, the two are discussing the infamous altercation between Minaj and Cardi B at the 2018 Harper's Bazaar New York Fashion Week party.

As you know, Cardi B confronted Minaj about liking a shady tweet about her parenting skills and proceeded to throw a shoe in Minaj's direction.

Cardi B left the party with a visible knot on her forehead, and, to this day, there is debate about how she got the injury.

Minaj previously claimed that the knot was a result of her friend Rah Ali beating Cardi B repeatedly in the face with her fist.

Minaj claimed to have footage of the beating but then later offered to pay $100,000 to anyone who had the alleged footage.

To this day, no footage showing Rah Ali beating Cardi B has ever surfaced

TMZ footage from the incident instead shows Minaj pressed up against a wall surrounded by security with Rah Ali standing right beside her.

Minaj could be heard saying "I'm staying right here!" while Cardi B shouted at her "Come here, bitch!".

We have to say, the injury does look more like a single knock in the head as opposed to a brutal beating in the face like Minaj described.

One would expect that someone punched repeatedly in the face would have more injuries than a single bump on the forehead.

However, in the clip from his new interview, Jason Lee reignited the discussion and seemingly backed up the version of events that claimed Rah Ali beat up Cardi B.

He said after the incident, he called up Rah Ali to try to calm the situation.

He adds "I didn't know Rah Ali was the one that punched Cardi at the party...she was going at Nicki and Rah jumped in on that."

The clip is being circulated by Minaj's fans as "confirmation" that Rah Ali did indeed beat Cardi B and was responsible for the knot on her forehead.

Lee however caught wind of this and issued a statement denying that the discussion was any sort of confirmation.

"Don’t take me answering a question with what I’ve heard on the internet as a fact or confirmation. Wasn’t there and have said multiple times we don’t talk about them people. I was giving the recount of what I heard. If I’m wrong not the first time. Clips aren’t context," he stated.

He later encouraged people to watch the full interview when it drops, for the full story.

We'll chalk this one up to Jason Lee stirring up drama to promote his interview and get people talking.

Because after five whole years, there simply is no proof of the Rah Ali version of events.
