Sukihana dragged over "classless" VMAs appearance
The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards had it fair share of controversy related to female rappers.
Sukihana was not one to be left out, pulling antics that ensured she would be a trending topic and talked about for days after the event.
The "Food Stamp Hoe" rapper has famously branded herself as "ratchet" and "a hoe" and has starred in sexually explicit videos.
So perhaps some "rathchet behaviour" was to be expected.
This didn't stop viewers from reacting in shock when she dropped down on all fours and started twerking on the floor.
Sukihana showed up to the event nicely dressed in a black gown and braids. But soon after she made it known that she was not there to be classy.
In a video and photos posted to her social media, she was seen twerking and gyrating on the floor, while posing for photographers.
She captioned one post unapologetically saying it was her first time at the VMAs and "they knew who I was when they invited me".
He antics created a wave of criticsm with some people accusing her of "making black people look bad" and not knowing how to tone in down.
"There is a time and a place for everything. This was not the time or the place!" one person tweeted.
"As grown man with values, businesses & a strong knowledge of what’s important, this type of behavior or woman doesn’t even attract me. Bring back class, respect & dignity," another person responded under her post.
Some criticised the rapper's hygiene, noting that she was down on the floor where peopel had been walking with their dirty shoes.
Sukihana responded to critics, commenting under one post to "shut the hell up".
Former reality show participant Deelishis even gave her two cents.
"Too many outdoor shoes been on that carpet buttercup," she wrote along with surprised and mask face emojis.
Sukihana hit back at the "Flavor of Love" season two winner saying "Girl you was sleeping with Flavor Flav, you ain't scared of nothing."
Deelishis has since apologized for her comment.
"First off let me start off by saying to Sukihana I apologize if my comment upset or offended you," she wrote on Instagram.
"I should have said 'you too fine for that flo' which is a much more precise way of describing what I thought when I saw the post or even better not comment at all."
For her part Sukihana seems to be revelling in all the attention, even though it is overwhelmingly negative.
As the saying goes, "all press is good press".
